Who we are and what we do

The Hollywood North team strives every day to be the best industry resource and business directory for domestic and international productions filming in British Columbia and Ontario.

Our story

Bridging the divide between productions and the businesses that serve them

Hollywood North Production Resources started with a simple observation: Canada's two biggest production centres are full of excellent local businesses that productions would love to hire — if only they knew they existed. At the same time, those businesses had no clear way to reach the busy production offices that open, spend and wrap in a matter of months.

Since 2018 we have worked to close that gap. Our online directory organises the suppliers, services and locations a film or TV production needs in British Columbia and Ontario, and our marketing team helps businesses present themselves the way productions expect. With office presences in Surrey, BC and Toronto, ON, we understand both markets — their incentives, their unions and guilds, their film offices and their rhythms.

Our mission is still the one written on our home page: to help businesses grow to reach their full potential by bridging the divide between them and the Film & TV production companies needing suppliers, services, locations and other supports.

Our values

How we work

Speed

Productions move fast. We reply to every business-day enquiry within 24 hours, and usually much sooner.

Independence

We never add commissions to production invoices. Paid placements are always labelled.

Local knowledge

Two provinces, dozens of municipalities, different rules. We know the terrain.

Responsibility

We champion suppliers with greener options and productions that respect neighbourhoods.

Coast to coast(ish)

Two offices. Two of the world's great production centres.

Our British Columbia office in Surrey sits at the heart of the Lower Mainland, within easy reach of Vancouver's studios and the Fraser Valley's locations. Our Ontario office at 1 Yonge Street in Toronto is minutes from the city's downtown production hub and the studios along the waterfront. Between them, we cover the two provinces where most of Canada's film and television production happens.
