Accessibility Statement
Effective date: October 7, 2026
Hollywood North Production Resources is committed to providing a website and services that are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we support the goals of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Accessible British Columbia Act.
1. Our commitment
We believe that everyone in the film and television community — producers, crew, suppliers and property owners — should be able to find information and use our services independently. Accessibility is part of how we design, write and build the Site, not an afterthought.
2. Measures we have taken
- Designed pages with semantic HTML, a logical heading structure and landmark regions (header, navigation, main content, footer).
- Provided a "Skip to content" link as the first focusable element on every page.
- Written descriptive alternative text for meaningful images and hidden decorative images from assistive technologies.
- Ensured all functionality — menus, submenus, tabs, accordions, sliders, filters and forms — can be operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Labelled every form field, marked required fields in text, and announced validation errors to screen readers.
- Chosen text and background colours with sufficient contrast, and avoided using colour alone to convey meaning.
- Respected the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system: animations, parallax, auto-rotating text and confetti are disabled when it is on.
- Built responsive layouts that reflow at narrow widths and support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
- Avoided time limits, auto-playing audio and flashing content.
3. Accessibility features you can use
- Keyboard: use Tab and Shift+Tab to move, Enter or Space to activate, arrow keys to switch tabs, and Escape to close the mobile menu.
- Zoom: use your browser's zoom (Ctrl/Cmd and +) to enlarge text and layouts.
- Reduced motion: enable "reduce motion" in your device settings to stop animations.
- Print: articles and policies print cleanly without navigation and pop-ups.
4. Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Some photographs used as background images are decorative and are described in surrounding text rather than individually.
- Image sliders auto-advance; they pause when you hover over them, and all slide content is also available elsewhere on the page or in the directory.
- Older PDF documents published by third parties that we link to may not meet accessibility standards.
We are working to address these limitations. If any of them affects you, please contact us and we will provide the information in another way.
5. Third-party content
We link to external websites such as government film offices, agencies and unions. We cannot guarantee the accessibility of those sites, but we will help you find the information you need if you experience barriers.
6. Alternative formats
On request, we will provide information from the Site — including our policies and articles — in an accessible alternative format or with communication supports, such as large print, plain text or by phone, in a timely manner and at no additional cost.
7. Accessible customer service
We welcome people who use assistive devices, service animals or support persons. You can reach us by phone, email or the contact form — whichever works best for you. If a temporary disruption affects access to our services (for example, website maintenance), we will post a notice on the Site.
8. Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the Site. Please tell us about any barriers you encounter:
- Email: [email protected] (subject "Accessibility")
- Phone: (888) 888-5554 (toll-free)
- Mail: 1 Yonge St, Suite 1801, Toronto, ON M5E 1W7
- Online: our contact form
We aim to acknowledge feedback within two business days and to respond fully within 10 business days.
9. Review of this statement
We review this statement and test the Site with keyboard navigation, screen readers and automated tools at least once a year, and whenever we make significant changes to the Site.
