Cookie Policy
Effective date: October 7, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how hollywoodnorth.org (the "Site"), operated by Hollywood North Production Resources, uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that let a website remember small pieces of information. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab; local storage persists until you clear it. These technologies can be used for essential functions (like remembering a preference) or for tracking (like building advertising profiles). We use them only for the former.
2. What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
hn-cookie-choice | Local storage (first-party) | Remembers that you have seen and responded to the cookie notice so it is not shown on every page. | Until you clear your browser storage |
hn-supplier-checklist | Local storage (first-party) | Saves which items you ticked on the interactive Production Supplier Checklist article, so your progress is there when you return. Only set if you use the checklist. | Until you reset the checklist or clear storage |
hn-form-name, hn-form-type | Session storage (first-party) | Temporarily holds your first name and the type of form you submitted so the thank-you page can greet you and show the right message. | Cleared when you close the tab |
These items are strictly necessary for features you choose to use, or are simple preferences. They never leave your device and are not used to identify or track you.
3. What we don't use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No Google Analytics or other third-party analytics scripts
- No Facebook, LinkedIn, X or TikTok pixels
- No embedded maps or video players that set third-party cookies on page load
- No fonts or scripts loaded from external content delivery networks — all fonts, icons and libraries are served from our own domain
4. External links and services
Some links on the Site take you to other websites, such as "Get directions" (Google Maps), share buttons (LinkedIn, X, Facebook) and official resources (film offices, agencies and unions). Those sites may set their own cookies once you visit them, under their own policies. Nothing from those services loads on our pages until you click the link.
5. Server logs
Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in server logs for security and troubleshooting. This does not involve cookies. See the Privacy Policy for details and retention.
6. Managing storage in your browser
You can view and delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings. Clearing storage will reset the cookie notice and the supplier checklist; the rest of the Site will work normally. Helpful guides:
You can also use private or incognito browsing, which clears storage when you close the window.
7. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not track visitors across sites or sell personal information, there is nothing for "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals to switch off. We honour the intent of these signals by default.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever introduce new cookies or tools — for example, privacy-friendly analytics — we will update this policy first and, where consent is required, ask for it before anything is set.
