Content on the Site — including articles, guides, checklists, FAQs and directory descriptions — is general information. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, insurance, health and safety or other professional advice, and it does not create a professional relationship between you and Hollywood North. You should obtain advice from qualified professionals about your specific circumstances before acting.
2. Tax credits and incentives
Our articles summarise publicly available information about film and television tax credits in British Columbia, Ontario and Canada, citing sources such as provincial governments, Creative BC, Ontario Creates and the Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office. Tax credit programs are complex; eligibility depends on many factors, and rates, thresholds and rules change — often through annual budgets. Figures on the Site reflect our understanding at the date of publication shown on each article. Always confirm current rules with the administering agency and a qualified production accountant or tax adviser.
3. Permits, regulations and safety
Information about filming permits, insurance requirements, notification rules, filming hours and other municipal or provincial regulations is provided as an orientation. Each municipality and agency sets and updates its own requirements. Contact the relevant film office before planning a shoot. Nothing on the Site replaces professional health and safety advice or compliance with occupational health and safety laws, union and guild agreements, or industry safety bulletins.
4. Directory listings
Directory categories and listings are based on information supplied by businesses and our reasonable review at the time. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, availability, licensing, insurance, quality or safety of any listed business, product or service. A listing, badge or ranking is not an endorsement or certification. Productions should carry out their own due diligence, including requesting current certificates of insurance, licences and references.
5. Sourcing shortlists
Shortlists provided by our Production Sourcing Concierge are prepared in good faith based on information available to us. We do not act as agent, broker or contractor, and agreements are made directly between productions and suppliers. We are not responsible for the performance of any supplier.
6. Sponsored content and paid placement
Some content and placements on the Site are paid for by businesses. Sponsored features and newsletter placements are labelled "Sponsored", and Featured and Spotlight directory listings are paid placements. Our editorial articles — such as the guides in our Film Industry News section — are not paid for by any third party unless clearly stated. Mentions of organisations in editorial content are for information and do not imply endorsement.
7. No guarantee of results
Our marketing and listing services are designed to improve your visibility to film and television productions. However, productions make their own purchasing decisions, and production volumes are affected by factors outside anyone's control, including labour disputes, exchange rates, incentives and global market conditions. We do not guarantee any particular number of enquiries, bookings or revenue.

The Site links to external websites operated by governments, agencies, unions, guilds, publishers and businesses. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. Links do not imply endorsement.

The term "Hollywood North" is a widely used nickname for the Canadian film industry; our use of it refers to our business name.

We work hard to keep content accurate and current, and we review articles regularly. If you spot an error or outdated information, please let us know and we will review and correct it promptly. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hollywood North is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information on the Site.
